The United Nations (UN) International Day of Peace is celebrated on September 21st each year to recognize the efforts of those who have worked hard to end conflict and promote peace. At school, we celebrate the day of peace on January 30th

To inaugurate the International Day of Peace, the "Peace Bell" is rung at UN Headquarters. The bell is made from coins donated by children from all continents. The bell is referred to as "a reminder of the human cost of war."

Symbols of peace

This peace sign was used widely in the 60's to express Peace. It was originally designed in 1958 by Gerald Holtom, a design student and activitst from England, to promote PEACE and Nuclear Disarmament

The peace dove flying with an olive branch in its beak is one of the most commonly featured symbols for the day. In Judaism, Christianity, and Islam a white dove is generally a sign for peace. The dove can also represent "hope for peace" or a peace offering from one person to another.

When the Unied States was consumed by the Vietnam War, LOVE also became a popular symbol for peace

 The Nobel Peace Prizes

According to Alfred Nobel's will, the Nobel Peace Prize should be awarded "to the person who shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between the nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses." The Peace Prize is awarded annually in Norway's capital city of Oslo, unlike the other Nobel Prizes, which are awarded in Stockholm, Sweden.

The list of Noble Peace Prizes is huge, so here you are the first and the last ones.

In 1901, winners Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross, and renowned pacifist Frederic Passy shared the first Nobel Prize in Peace for their influential humanitarian efforts and peace movements.

The Nobel Peace Prize 2010 was awarded to LIU XIAOBO "for his long and non violent struggle for fundamental human rights in China.

Now, let´s sing in peace with JOHN LENNON

And the ANSWER is...

Black Friday is the day following Thanksgiving Day in the United States, traditionally the beginning of the Christmas shopping season.

Especially popular in the United States and Canada, the event is spreading to other nations such as Australia and the United Kingdom.

On this day, many shops open very early, often at 4 a.m., or earlier, and offer promotional sales to kick off the shopping season

Shops are crowded with people buying like crazy. It´s AMAZING.
